One goal of this site is to raise the public profile of Bill C-555, which aims to make cellphone rates more affordable for all Canadians.

Of course, we also hope to convince Rogers that their voice and data plans need vast improvement in value for money.

How can we do this? Hit them where it hurts -- in their pocketbook.

What you can do:

  1. Do not buy an iPhone in Canada.  If you must, please consider delaying your purchase for a few weeks or a month.
  2. Spread the word online.  Email friends and family and let them know about this site.
  3. Spread the word in person.  Predictions are that worldwide sales of the iPhone on July 11 will be huge.  In Canada, let's aim for the opposite.   If the launch is a flop, Rogers will notice.

Possibility #1: Here is a lost customer slip.  On July 11, hand this in at a Rogers or Fido store in person.  If that doesn't appeal, snail mail the lost customer slip to Rogers at this address:

    Rogers Corporate
333 Bloor Street East, 7th Floor
    Toronto, Ontario
    M4W 1G9

Possibility #2: You may also wish to spread information about the Rogers rate plans in person on July 11.  Don't forget to mention Bill C-555!

Here are PDF copies of the material available on this site:

Cost comparison (high-end) // Cost comparison (low-end) // Web page views myth // Over-limit fees

You may already be organizing with people over the Internet to meet on July 11.  If you are going to meet with people who were previously strangers to you, be certain to bring a friend that you already know.  This will help swell the ranks, but it's also for safety's sake.

Finally, please voice opposition the Canadian way.  Be polite, make your case.  If people are not interested, don't push it.  Good luck and have fun!
